Dental 3D CT Scans

For dentists: Refer a patient for a CBCT Scan

Why have a 3D CBCT Scan?

If you’ve decided to go for dental implant treatment, we want to make sure that your treatment is carried out to the highest possible standard. We use the latest technology and techniques so we can get the best possible results.

To achieve this, it’s all in the planning. We would take a scan on our CBCT machine so we can digitally plan your treatment in fine detail.

This means that we know exactly what type and size of dental implants you need, and exactly where they need to go. Therefore your treatment tends to be quicker, easier and more predictable.

We can also use this information to make a 3D printed guide. On the day of your treatment, we can use this to make sure we fit your implants exactly where we need them.

This also helps us achieve a great end result. Because we can fit your implants in just the right place, it means that the teeth which fit onto the implants are also better positioned, and look more natural.

How do we carry out your CBCT scan?

Having the scan is really straightforward. You would have an appointment with one of our CBCT qualified staff which takes around 15 minutes. We would then usually take some time to check through your scan, and review the results with you at a separate appointment a short while later.

Can my own dentist arrange for me to have a CBCT scan at Market Place Dentistry?

Yes, of course. Your dentist may want to use this technology for their own treatment planning and we’re more than happy to share. While you can’t request a CBCT scan yourself as a patient, your own dentist can send us a referral easily.

What else are CBCT scans useful for?

The main reason we would use CBCT scans is for dental implant planning. However, we can also use them wherever we want to check something in 3 dimensions or in fine detail. This might include checking for fine cracks in teeth, checking the shape of roots, or the position of nerves or other structures.
