I started at Market Place Dentistry in 2013, following posts in both Private and NHS practices in Yorkshire and County Durham.
My approach to dentistry is patient-focused, always ensuring any questions, concerns or problems you may have are addressed. I feel it is important to discuss any potential options that may be available and come to a plan that is personalised and that works best for you.
I take great pride in the quality of my work. It is important that restored teeth look and feel like teeth as much as possible. Dental health, good function and a natural appearance are what I aim for.
I particularly enjoy working with dental implants and have been providing this treatment since 2012. I think they provide an excellent result where natural teeth unfortunately have had to be removed. Almost without exception, people choosing to have implant treatment have been pleased with their choice.
Outside of work, I love to keep active, so you will often find me out in the wonderful North Yorkshire countryside walking, running or cycling.

I graduated from Manchester Dental Hospital in 2011 before moving to London to complete my Vocational Training. I then moved on to work in hospital posts in London, working in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Specialist Restorative departments where I gained the MFDS postgraduate qualification. I then spent two and a half years applying the skills I had learnt in a busy practice in South London.
Originally from North Yorkshire, I moved back to the area joining Market Place Dentistry in January 2016. I enjoy getting to know patients and providing high quality dental care. I have a keen interest in postgraduate education and regularly attend courses to keep up to date with modern techniques.
Outside of work I enjoy running, cycling and following the ups and downs of Leeds United.

I have more than 30 years experience in providing orthodontic (brace) treatment, not only in Thirsk, but also in a hospital department and several specialist orthodontic practices. Over this time, I have seen many changes in methods and types of braces and also a big increase in the number of patients seeking this type of treatment, both children and adults. I use the most up-to-date materials and methods to ensure a good outcome in the shortest time practical.
Having been a family dentist for many years, I now provide only orthodontic treatments, working at Market Place Dentistry and two other practices.
Outside of work, I am a keen photographer and hillwalker, and also enjoy woodworking and DIY.

I joined the practice in December 2013 after working as a chemistry teacher for seven years. Just like teaching, no two days are the same. My role is really varied: one day I can be dealing with the finances and the next I can be dealing with COSHH or compliance. The best part of the role by far is working with people. I find looking after our staff and patients extremely rewarding.
Outside of work I like to keep fit by running and cycling, and when the weather is nice I love gardening whilst listening to the radio.

I began my career in dentistry as a dental nurse for NHS Lothian in Edinburgh. After working for a few years, I decided I wanted to further my education and studied for a degree in Oral Health Sciences at Glasgow Caledonian University where I trained in Glasgow Dental Hospital to become a dental hygienist therapist.
I am originally from the north of England but I grew up in a seaside town called North Berwick, just outside of Edinburgh, and was able to enjoy everything that living by the sea has to offer.
I love all aspects of dental hygiene and therapy but my favourite area is the treatment of chronic periodontal disease because it can significantly improve a person’s quality of life. As a dental therapist I can also treat children which can be incredibly rewarding.
In my spare time I enjoy staying active and have a passion for horses so try and go riding whenever I can. I am also a keen traveller. I spent 2 months in Crete working as a volunteer to protect its turtles, but my favourite destination to date was being able to experience the ski season in Queenstown, New Zealand.
BSc Oral Health Science Glasgow Caledonian 2014
I began working for the practice in March 2017 and I am enjoying looking after our patients' dental health.
I qualified as a Dental Hygienist in 2007 and initially worked abroad in Cyprus and Germany. On returning to the UK I worked in Bristol, and in more recent years North Yorkshire. I am originally from Tyneside and the years of travelling hasn't dulled the North East accent too much.
I have a friendly and caring chairside manner, I particularly enjoy treating nervous patients and seeing a happier patient leave in the knowledge they will return.
Outside of work I enjoy keeping fit with yoga, running and swimming.
Dip Dental Hygiene RCS Edinburgh 2007
I joined the practice in March 2001 as a dental nurse. I enjoy working with our dedicated team, ensuring patients' visits are an enjoyable experience. I have developed an interest in Neuro-Linguistic Programming which I find helps our more anxious patients feel at ease.
As lead nurse, I am responsible for ensuring good cross infection control throughout the practice and in particular in our instrument sterilisation room.
In my spare time, you will find me being creative, baking and cake decorating for friends and family. I also have a passion for swimming and cycling most days, together with healthy-eating cookery, promoting a healthy lifestyle.

I have been a dental nurse since 1994, and my enthusiasm for the role remains as high as ever. After posts around the north-east I joined Market Place Dentistry in Autumn 2015 and soon trained in dental implant nursing. I am also qualified to take X-rays and dental impressions, and in fluoride application.
When I'm not working I enjoy spending time with my friends and family.

I have been a dental nurse since 2002. After a short break in 2014, I soon returned to the role after realising how much I missed it. I joined the team as a dental nurse in Spring 2014.
I enjoy all aspects of my job, especially assisting with dental implant treatments and helping to reassure any of our more nervous patients and helping them to feel at ease.
In my spare time, I enjoy socialising with friends and family.

After having a break from Dental Nursing I have recently joined Market Place Dentistry part-time, I am very much enjoying being part of such a dedicated friendly team of professionals and have been made to feel very welcome.
I enjoy the variety of interesting duties the role includes, meeting and assisting patients and learning about the new techniques available to patients and myself, learning new skills.
Away from work I like to spend time with my family and friends, and my husband and I have recently become Grandparents which is wonderful. I like to keep fit by walking with my dog Alfie especially up in the hills and gardening.
I work at the practice as a part-time dental nurse on Saturdays and the occasional Friday, and work mainly with the hygienist. I am a caring individual and can help our nervous patients feel more at ease. I also have experience working with dental surgeons and orthodontists, having worked at Harrogate hospital since 2010.
I am a keen rugby fan and enjoy watching internationals whenever I can, and like to spend time socialising with friends and family
Dip. Dental Nursing, City and Guilds UK 2013
I came to work at Market Place Dentistry at the beginning of December 2017. I have been a dental receptionist since 2003, mostly in York until we moved to Asenby in 2015. I work part-time and enjoy being part of the very friendly team here who welcomed me from the start.
Over the years I have done a lot of travelling, but since our puppy Teddy joined us in January 2016, we now spend time seeing our own beautiful country and taking her along with us. We enjoy long walks and cycling with Teddy being pulled along behind in her cart.
I joined the practice in May 2018 as a part-time receptionist.
Over the past 20 years I have worked as a receptionist in GP and veterinary practices in Thirsk.
I have been made very welcome by everyone here and it is wonderful to be part of such a caring, professional team. It is important to me that I can help our patients feel welcome and comfortable when coming to their appointments.
Outside work, I love spending time with my family and enjoy gardening, sewing, baking and being outdoors.
